SOUTHWEST ATHLETES RECEIVE TJCCAA ACADEMIC AWARDS

Five Southwest student/athletes have been honored by the Tennessee Junior and Community College Athletic Association for their outstanding work in the classroom.  Two women’s basketball players, two softball players, and one baseball player received 2003-2004 TJCCAA Academic Achievement Awards from the TJCCAA.

The following student/athletes were honored:  sophomore women’s basketball players Julia Cole and Latoyia Hill, sophomore baseball player Josh Meeker, and freshmen softball players Katie Cerrito and Jessica Laubacker.

To be considered for the award, sophomores must have earned an overall grade point average of 3.0 or above, with at least 48 hours credit of college level work.  Freshmen must have earned an overall GPA of 3.2 or above, with at least 24 hours credit of college level work.
