SOUTHWEST’S JOHNNY RAY NAMED TBCA COACH
OF THE YEAR
 Southwest
head baseball coach Johnny Ray, who guided the Saluqis to the Region VII
Tournament championship last May, has been selected as the 2004 Junior
College Coach of the Year by the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association.
He was honored at the TBCA Awards Luncheon on Saturday, January 15,
2005 at the Airport Marriott Hotel in Nashville.
Ray, who was in his first year as head coach at Southwest in 2004, won
40 games last spring, which set a new school record. “This award
wouldn’t have been possible without the help of a supporting coaching
staff and a group of great players who worked hard every day,” said Ray. |
