SALUQIS BASEBALL TEAM
WINS 20TH
The Southwest baseball team won three of four games last week,
improving its record to 21-11 on the season. The Saluqis swept
Northeast Mississippi in a doubleheader by scores of 4-2 and 9-1.
Southwest split a twin bill Wednesday with Bevill State-Sumiton (AL),
winning the first game 8-2 and losing the nightcap 5-4.
The Saluqis will play Northwest-Shoals (AL) in a 3 p.m. doubleheader
Wednesday at Tony Gagliano Memorial Field. This weekend, Southwest
will host Volunteer State Community College, the first-place team in
the Tennessee Junior and Community College Athletic Association. Game
times for the three-game series are 4 p.m. (single game) Friday and a
noon doubleheader Saturday. |
