SALUQIS’ BASEBALL TEAM WINS ONE OF THREE AT CLEVELAND

The Southwest baseball team won one game in a three game conference series at Cleveland State over the weekend. After Cleveland State won the first game of the series 13-3 on Friday afternoon, the two teams split Saturday’s doubleheader with Southwest winning game one 4-2 and Cleveland State winning game two 7-3. The Saluqis’ record now stands at 6-11 overall and 3-5 in the TJCCAA.

In Saturday’s victory, pitcher Tim Harmon (pictured at left) allowed only three hits and struck out five in 6-1/3 innings to earn the win. Top hitters for Southwest in the series were Matt Nuccio (2 for 3, 2 doubles, 2 rbi in game one), Daniel Hill (2 for 3 in game three), and David Clayton (2 for 3, 2 rbi in game three).
