SOUTHWEST BASEBALL TEAM LOSES TO TOP-RANKED
CHATTANOOGA STATE
 The
Southwest baseball team traveled to Chattanooga over the
weekend and was defeated in all three games by
Chattanooga State, the number one ranked team in the
National Junior College Athletic Association. The
Saluqis were defeated 10-3 in Friday's single game, then
lost both ends of Saturday's doubleheader by scores of
9-3 and 6-0. Top hitters for Southwest in the series
were Clay Wright (pictured at right) (5 for 11,
double) and Daniel Hill (4 for 11, double, home run).
The Saluqis will play Hiwassee in a three game series on
Thursday and Friday at Tony Gagliano Memorial Field. The
two teams will play a single game on Thursday at 6 p.m. followed by a noon
doubleheader on Friday. On Monday, April 9, Southwest will play Itawamba in
a doubleheader at First Tennessee Fields beginning at 4 p.m.
