TWO SALUQIS NAMED
ALL-CONFERENCE
Southwest baseball players Patrick Williams and Nick Smith were
recently honored by the Tennessee Junior and Community College
Athletic Association.
Williams, a sophomore centerfielder from Houston High School, was
selected first team All-TJCCAA in a vote by the conference coaches. In
addition, he was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year,
and to the All-Region VII team after leading the Saluqis with a .351
batting average, three triples, and 26 stolen bases.
Smith, a freshman catcher/designated hitter from Adamsville (Tn.) High
School, was a second team All-TJCCAA pick. Smith batted .337 this
season and led the Saluqis in home runs (9), runs batted in (54), and
on-base average (.452). |
