The Southwest
Tennessee Community College baseball team defeated Shawnee (IL)
Community College 7-6 and 8-6 in a doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Tony
Gagliano Memorial Field.In the first game,
Southwest came back from a 5-0 first inning deficit to defeat Shawnee on
freshman Mac McAlister's run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh
inning. Sophomore Corey Kines had three hits (including two doubles) in
the first game and added two singles in the nightcap to lead the Saluqis
to the sweep.
The Saluqis travel to Jackson, Tennessee on Monday
afternoon to play the Lambuth University junior varsity in a 1:00 p.m.
doubleheader.
