SALUQIS SWEEP LAMBUTH JV
The Southwest Tennessee Community College baseball team swept Lambuth University's junior varsity in a doubleheader Monday afternoon in Jackson, Tennessee. Freshman catcher Jacob Barker's three-run homer highlighted a five-run first inning in game one as the Saluqis held on to defeat Lambuth 11-9. Sophomore second baseman Corey Kines went 3 for 3 in the first game, including a double and three runs batted in. Sophomore David McQuilliams was the winning pitcher, with freshman Scott Nobles earning the save. In the second game, Barker homered again and freshman rightfielder Dusty Harris blasted his second round-tripper of the season to lead Southwest to a 8-6 win. Freshman pitcher/shortstop Marshall Mullins picked up his first win of the season, had two base hits, and drove in two runs. The victories gave Southwest four straight wins after losing two games to open the season.
