TWO SIGN WITH SALUQIS
Southwest Tennessee Community College head baseball coach Doug Darnall has announced the signing of Bolton High School pitcher Jamie Carrico and infielder Michael Fonte of Water Valley, Mississippi. Carrico posted a 1-1 record with a 3.44 earned run average his senior year for Bolton coach Tommy Scarbrough. He appeared in six games as a pitcher, striking out 11 batters and allowing 10 hits in 12-2/3 innings. In addition, Carrico batted .263 and led the Wildcats with 10 doubles and 23 runs batted in. Fonte, an infielder, batted .429 his senior season with five home runs, 27 runs batted in, an .857 slugging average, and a .583 on-base average. He received team awards for Best Fielder and Most Valuable Player, and was also named to the All-Area team.
