pitcher-first baseman Corey Kines has signed a letter of intent
to play baseball at The University of Memphis. Kines posted a 5-4 record
this spring, led Southwest with a 3.47 earned run average, and was named
to the Tennessee Junior/Community College Athletic Association All-West
Division Team. In addition, he batted .345 as a sophomore with 30 runs
batted in, a .434 on-base average, and led the team in doubles (13) and
walks (24). As a freshman, Kines went 8-1 on the mound with 45
strikeouts, and batted.314 with a team-leading 12 doubles. |
