SALUQIS DEFEAT KENNEDY-KING FOR TENTH WIN

After nearly a month since its last game, the Southwest men’s basketball team returned to the court last Thursday, defeating Kennedy-King College 87-72 at the Verties Sails Gymnasium.

Three players combined for 64 points to lead the Saluqis to their tenth win of the season. Dominique Johnson (23 points, five steals. four assists), A.J. Nance (22 points, five rebounds, four assists), and DeAngelo Riley (pictured at right) (career-high 19 points, game-high 11 rebounds, career-high four steals). As a team, Southwest turned in another outstanding defensive effort, limiting Kennedy-King to just 34 percent shooting from the field and forcing 25 turnovers.

Next up for both the Saluqis and Lady Saluqis is a road trip to Little Rock, Arkansas on Tuesday, January 8 to take on Arkansas Baptist College. The women’s game will tip off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men at 7:30.
