SALUQIS WIN
SEVENTH STRAIGHT!
The Southwest men's basketball team won its
seventh straight game, defeating Kennedy-King College 97-73 on
Saturday night at the Verties Sails Gymnasium. The win improved the
Saluqis' overall record to 12-4 on the season. Four players scored in
double figures, led by sophomore guard Antwon Bess with 17 points.
The Lady Saluqis won one of three games in the
Illinois Central Tournament (in late December) and will return to
action on Thursday, January 16 against Itawamba Community College.
Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m. at the Verties Sails Gymnasium.
The men's team is off until Tuesday, January 21,
when both the Saluqis and Lady Saluqis play TJCCAA rival Dyersburg
State.
