SOUTHWEST ANNOUNCES 2002-2003 BASKETBALL
SCHEDULE
Southwest Tennessee Community College
basketball coaches Verties Sails and Andrea Martre have announced their
2002-2003 schedules, and both the Saluqis and Lady Saluqis will face
challenging slates this season. Opening night will be Friday, November
1, when both the men's and women's teams take on Coahoma Community
College.
Highlighting the Saluqis' schedule will be a trip to Twin Falls, Idaho
(November 7-9) for the K&T Steel Tournament. Also participating in
the three-day event are Southern Idaho, Spartanburg Methodist, and Northwest
Wyoming. In addition to Coahoma, the men's team will play
non-conference games against Northwest Mississippi, Southeastern Illinois,
and Kennedy King.
The Lady Saluqis will again travel to East Peoria, Illinois to play in the
Illinois Central Tournament (December 28-30). Other participating
teams will be Kirkwood (IA), Lake Michigan, Lansing (MI), Monroe (NY), Salt
Lake City (UT), and South Suburban (IL). The women will also play
non-conference games against Northwest Mississippi and Coahoma, as well as
Itawamba (MS).
