RUCKER SIGNS WITH SOUTHERN MISS
Lady
Saluqis’ sophomore Candace Rucker has signed a National
Letter of Intent to continue her education and
basketball career at the University of Southern
Mississippi. Rucker, a 5’9” guard from Northside High
School, came to Southwest after playing her freshman
season at the University of Colorado.
”Candace should be a big factor in Southern Miss’
success next season,” said Southwest women’s basketball
coach Andrea Martre. “She is a great fit for them.”
Rucker is currently averaging 24.3 points per game
through three games, ranking second in the National
Junior College Athletic Association. In addition, Rucker
is among NJCAA leaders in rebounds (9.7) and steals
(5.0) and also leads the Lady Saluqis with a .567 field
