LADY SALUQIS SWEEP CHATTANOOGA AND MOTLOW
The
Southwest women’s basketball team swept Chattanooga
State and Motlow State on the road over the weekend to
improve its record to 5-0 on the season (including 4-0
in the TJCCAA.) Daumonique Lenhardt (pictured at
right) scored 16 points and Candace Rucker recorded
a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead
the Lady Saluqis past Chattanooga State 63-54 on Friday
night.
Rucker scored 22 points, Cristil Camper scored a
career-high 17 points, and Starkitsha Luellen had her
second double-double of the season with 11 points and 15
rebounds in Saturday’s 83-63 victory over Motlow State.
SOUTHWEST MEN BEAT CHATTANOOGA, LOSE TO MOTLOW
Dominique
Johnson scored a career-high 34 points and A.J. Nance
added 23 points to lead the Saluqis to a 138-129 win at
Chattanooga State on Friday night. Two players posted
double doubles – Emmanuel Cheers with 19 points and 11
assists, and Markecio Beal (pictured at left)
with career highs of 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Nance was the top scorer with 26 points in Saturday’s
102-99 loss at Motlow State. Johnson added 17 points and
Jeremy Rodgers had his second double-double with 12
points and 14 rebounds. The Saluqis dropped to 5-2
overall and 3-1 in the TJCCAA.
