Sophomore point guard Brian Kizzie hit a three-pointer
at the buzzer as the Saluqis defeated Coahoma Community College 67-66 on
Tuesday night in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Kizzie led Southwest in scoring in
13 points, including three three-point field goals. Toriano Stokes added 12
points and led the Saluqis with seven rebounds. The win improved the men's
record to 8-4 on the season, including wins in five of the last six games.
In the women's game, freshman Kaia Richardson had her
best game of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds, leading the Lady
Saluqis to a 68-56 victory over the Lady Tigers. Also in double figures for
the Southwest women were freshman center Tiffany Webb with 13 points, and
freshman forward Jackie Jackson with 10 points. The Lady Saluqis are now 4-4
on the season.
Both the Saluqis and Lady Saluqis return to action
next Tuesday at Northwest Mississippi Community College (in Senatobia,
Mississippi.) Tipoff for the women's game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.,
followed by the men's game at approximately 8:00 p.m. Play-by-Play for both

The next home game for both teams is on Saturday,
December 7, when the Southwest takes on Cleveland State Community College.
