SALUQIS WIN KENNEDY-KING TOURNAMENT IN CHICAGO

The Southwest men’s basketball team returned from Chicago this weekend having picked up two victories in the Willie Little Classic. Southwest defeated Cincinnati State 88-70 on Friday. Lester Hudson scored 19 in the victory in which 11 different Saluqis scored.

Saturday afternoon the Saluqis wrapped up the tournament by defeating host Kennedy-King 112-102. Nick Covington (pictured at right) poured in a career-high 35 points. Three others also scored in double figures for Southwest: Lester Hudson (14), Moraye Ivy (11) and Jeremy Marrs (11). Ivy and Hudson led the Saluqis in rebounding with eight apiece.

The two wins improved the Saluqis record to 10-5 overall. They return to action on Saturday, January 15 when Southwest hosts Saint Catharine College at the Verties Sails Gymnasium.
