SOUTHWEST WINS TWO GAMES IN LADY SALUQIS
CLASSIC
The Southwest women's basketball team won both games in the Lady Saluqis
Classic on December 27-28 at the Verties Sails Gymnasium, defeating Wayne
County 79-76 and Mineral Area 76-74.
Against Wayne County, Lakeisha Jackson scored 14 points to lead four Lady
Saluqis who scored in double figures. Other top scorers were Kenya Moore (12
points, eight rebounds), Mary Brown (12 points), and Ashley Mason (11
points, team-high nine rebounds).
Mason's 15-foot jumper with 1.8 seconds remaining gave the Lady Saluqis the
win over Mineral Area. Top scorers were Shayna Troupe with 13 points and
Moore with 12 points. Troupe was also the top rebounder with nine boards.
