SOUTHWEST WOMEN WIN TWO IN LADY SALUQIS
CLASSIC
The Southwest women’s basketball team won two games last week in the
Lady Saluqis Classic, defeating Kennedy-King College 99-62 and Georgia
Perimeter College 70-66. The victories extended the Lady Saluqis’ winning
streak to five games and improved their record to 9-6 on the season.
In
the opening round win over Kennedy-King, Imesia Jackson scored 24 points and
grabbed 15 rebounds and Gina High (pictured at right) scored a
season-high 22 points to lead Southwest. In addition to her points, High had
her best all-around game of the season with 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2
steals.
Against Georgia Perimeter, Priscilla Campbell scored 14 points and Jasmine
Massey added 13 points to lead Southwest. Campbell and Massey hit a combined
seven three-point field goals. Porshia Willis was the only other player in
double figures with 11 points and also led the team with six assists.
The Lady Saluqis’ next game will be on Friday, January 13 against
Chattanooga State Technical and Community College at the Verties Sails
Gymnasium.
