SIX IN DOUBLE FIGURES LEAD SALUQIS PAST NORTHWEST

Tyrone Scott scored 14 points to lead Southwest to a 84-81 win over Northwest Mississippi Community College on Tuesday night at the Howard Coliseum in Senatobia, Mississippi.   The Saluqis, now 9-4 overall, handed Northwest its second loss of the season, and only the fourth in their last 86 home games.  Also in double figures for the Saluqis were Antwon Bess and Zach Bright with 13 points each, Londrick Nolen with 12, and Brian Kizzie and Toriano Stokes with 11 apiece.  Stokes hit seven of eight free throws late in the second half to seal the victory for Southwest.

Northwest won the women's game by a score of 87-58.  The Lady Saluqis (4-5) were led by Larisha Graves, who scored 17 points and also led in rebounds with seven.

The Saluqis and Lady Saluqis return to action this Saturday against Cleveland State Community College at the Verties Sails Gymnasium.  Tip-off for the women's game is 2:00 p.m., followed by the men at 4:00 p.m.  This will be the last home game for Southwest until January 4, when the men play Kennedy-King College.
