JONES LEADS SALUQIS OVER CLEVELAND STATE

Sophomore forward Albert Jones scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Saluqis to a 79-73 win over Cleveland State Saturday afternoon at the Verties Sails Gymnasium. Freshman Londrick Nolen added 14 points as Southwest improved to 10-4 overall and 5-0 in conference play.

In the women's game, Cleveland State defeated the Lady Saluqis 73-62, despite a game-high 18 points from Southwest guard Larisha Graves. Also in double figures for the Lady Saluqis was freshman Patrice Middleton with 13 points. The loss dropped the women's record to 4-6 overall and 0-5 in the conference.

Both teams will travel to Madisonville, Tennessee, Saturday to play Hiwassee College. The women's game will begin at 1 p.m. (Central Time), followed by the men’s game at approximately 3 p.m.
