SALUQIS SWEEP VOL STATE 
TO END REGULAR SEASON


The Southwest men's and women's basketball ended the regular season by sweeping Volunteer State Community College Saturday afternoon at the Verties Sails Gymnasium.

In the women's game, Christhol McClain led Southwest with 22 points as the Lady Saluqis defeated Vol State 94-52. Other outstanding players were Patrice Middleton, who recorded career-highs with 16 points and 16 rebounds; Tiffany Webb (14 points, 14 rebounds), and Kaia Richardson (13 points, 14 rebounds.) The win improved the Lady Saluqis' record to 11-13 overall and 6-10 in the Tennessee Junior and Community College Athletic Association.

Albert Jones scored a career-high 16 points to lead the Saluqi men to a 105-82 victory. Also in double figures for Southwest were Antwon Bess with 14 points, Brian Kizzie with 12 points and seven assists, and Eric Christopher with 10 points as all 14 players scored for the Saluqis. The Southwest men ended the regular season with a 20-6 overall record and 14-2 in the TJCCAA.

Next up for the Saluqis and Lady Saluqis is the TJCCAA/Region 7 Tournament, March 5-10 at Oman Arena in Jackson, Tennessee.
