SOUTHWEST BASKETBALL PLAYERS
HONORED
Five Southwest basketball players have been selected to the All-Western
Division team by the Tennessee Junior and Community College Athletic
Association, including three who were also named to the All-TJCCAA team.
Latoyia Hill and Julia Cole, who led the Southwest women to the championship
game of the Region VII Tournament, were named All-Western Division and All-TJCCAA.
Hill, a sophomore from Macon, Georgia, led the Lady Saluqis in scoring at
13.4 points per game and was the second leading rebounder with a 7.3
average. Cole, a sophomore from Fairley High School in Memphis, was one of
the top rebounders in the entire conference, averaging 9.1 per contest. She
also carried a scoring average of 6.9 points per game, and was third on the
team with 32 steals. Tiffany Webb, a sophomore from Kirby High School in
Memphis, was named to the All-West Division team. Webb was the Lady Saluqis’
third leading scorer at 10.2 points per game and led the team in field goal
percentage at 55 percent.
Londrick Nolen, one of the top all-around players in the TJCCAA, was named
All-West Division and All-TJCCAA. Nolen, a sophomore from Raleigh-Egypt
High School in Memphis, led the Saluqis in scoring (16.9 average), assists
(115), and three point percentage (.388), and was second on the team in
rebounding (7.1), blocked shots (37), and steals (50). Also named All-West
Division was Kenneth Bohanna, a sophomore from Overton High School in
Memphis. Bohanna averaged 7.6 points per game this season, and led the
Saluqis in rebounding (7.6 average) and blocked shots (40). |
