SOUTHWEST BASKETBALL TEAMS TO PLAY IN REGION TOURNAMENT

The Saluqis and Lady Saluqis basketball teams will compete in the TJCCAA/Region 7 tournament this week at Oman Arena in Jackson, Tennessee. The 20th-ranked Southwest men enter the tournament with a 20-6 overall record and won the TJCCAA West Division regular season title with a 14-2 conference record. The Saluqis receive a first-round bye, playing the winner of the Dyersburg State/Motlow State game on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The Lady Saluqis finished third in the West Division during the regular season, and will play at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday against Roane State. If they win, the next game will be Friday at 4:00 p.m. against Walters State. Championship games are set for Monday, March 10 at 6:00 p.m. (women) and 8:00 p.m. (men).
