Six Southwest men’s basketball players will continue their education
and basketball careers at four-year schools, according to Saluqis’ head
coach Verties Sails, Jr.
In addition to Londrick Nolen, who signed with the University of
Mississippi last month, the following Saluqis’ players have signed:
Obinna Amaefule, a 6’6” forward from Revere, Massachusetts, has signed
with Columbia College of Missouri. Amaefule played in 24 games for
Southwest during the 2003-2004 season, averaging 2.5 points and 2.9
rebounds per game.
Christopher Adams, a 6’0” guard from Melrose High School, and Kenneth
Bohanna, a 6’6” forward from Overton High School, have signed with Park
University in Parkville, Missouri. Adams averaged 5.4 points per game
last season and was third on the team in steals with 31. Bohanna, who was
named to the TJCCAA’s All-West Division Team, averaged 7.6 points per game
and led the team in rebounding (7.6 average) and blocked shots (40).
Kevin Dilworth, a 6’7” forward from Northville, Georgia, has signed with
North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, Georgia.
Dilworth averaged 9.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore,
and set a new Southwest record for highest free throw percentage in a
season (.868).
Lonnie Gibbs, a 6’0” guard from Fairhope, Alabama, has signed with Lambuth
University in Jackson, Tennessee. Gibbs averaged 3.0 points per game as a
sophomore and was third on the team in assists with 43. |
