TEN SIGN WITH LADY SALUQIS’ BASKETBALL
TEAM
Southwest women’s basketball
coach Andrea Martre has announced the signing of ten student-athletes to
National Letters of Intent for the 2004-2005 season.
Joining the Lady Saluqis are five local players, including freshmen
signees Priscilla Campbell, a 5’8” guard from Carver High School, Erica
Harris, a 5’8” guard from Cordova High School, and Porshia Willis, a 5’4”
guard from Kirby High School. In addition, two players originally from
Memphis are transferring to Southwest – Shayna Troupe, a 6’0”
guard/forward from Kirby High School and San Jacinto (TX) College, and
Ashley Mason, a 5’11” guard/forward from Trezevant High School and
Mississippi Delta Community College.
Other signees for the upcoming season are 5’11” guard/forward Ramona
Golphin and 5’10” guard/forward Kenya Moore, both from Blytheville (AR)
High School, Shaunnatay Delaney, a 5’7” guard from Turrell (AR) High
School, Imesia Jackson, a 6’1” forward from East Oktibbeha County (MS)
High School, and Alexis Jackson, a 6’5” forward/center from Coffeville
(MS) High School.
The Lady Saluqis must replace eight sophomores off the 2004 Region VII
runner-up team, including three all-conference performers. “After losing
an abundance of sophomores, we’ve brought in some talented newcomers who
will hopefully pick up where last year’s team left off,” said Martre.
“We’re excited about this team. The players are eager and ready to work.” |
