SOUTHWEST CHEER SQUAD SELECTED
Tryouts for the Southwest cheerleading squad were held on Saturday,
September 17 and Wednesday, October 5 at the College’s Union Avenue Campus,
and fourteen squad members were selected for the 2005-06 season.
“I'm always excited about the new academic year,” said Southwest
cheerleading coach Sabrina Tiller. “There are new faces and personalities
and new goals to set and meet. We have a very talented group this year who
are energetic, eager and willing to learn and progress; that is what keeps
me motivated! Go Saluqis!!!”
Squad members who were selected are: Lyisha Allen, Renell Collier, Mallory
Dandridge, Morgan Franklin, Tanesha Jackson, Danielle Jeffries, Tiffanie
Johnson, Tamara Marion, Tierreney Munford, Nina Payne, Kamesha Smith,
Chaundrea Street (captain), Chris Thomas, and Jamaica Todd. Alternates are:
Nicole Bibbs, Felicia Jackson, Shundra King, James Neville, and Kassedi
Wilson. Team manager for this year’s squad is Sharday Godboldo.
The Southwest cheerleaders attend all home basketball games as well as
several away games, represent the College at different Southwest and
community functions, and plan to perform at competitions throughout the year
