SOUTHWEST SPLITS WITH COAHOMA, HOME GAMES SATURDAY AGAINST MERIDIAN
The Southwest Tennessee Community College basketball teams split a doubleheader at Coahoma (Miss.) Community College Tuesday night with the Saluqi men winning 101-75, and the Lady Saluqis losing 74-68.

Eleven different players scored for the men, led by freshman Antwon Bess, who scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Other Saluqis scoring in double figures were sophomore Lou Wright (21) and Larry Wells (11), and freshman Zachary Bright (12 points, 10 rebounds).

In the women's game, the Lady Saluqis came back from a 12-point halftime deficit to take the lead in the second half, but turnovers proved costly as Coahoma won the game by six points. Sophomore Larica Seals led the Lady Saluqis with a season-high 26 points. Also scoring in double figures were freshman Christy Craig (13) and sophomore Latoshia Bailey (13).

The Saluqis and Lady Saluqis return to action this Saturday with home games at the Verties Sails Gymnasium against Meridian (Miss.) Community College. The women's game begins at 2:00 p.m., followed by the men at 4:00 p.m.
