SOUTHWEST SPLITS WITH MERIDIAN
The Southwest Tennessee Community College basketball teams split two games with  Meridian (Miss.)  Community College, with the Saluqi men winning 104-69, and the Lady Saluqis losing 89-68.

The men’s’ team, now with a 4-3 record, outrebounded Meridian by a whopping 78-41 margin, led by freshman Zachary Bright (15), sophomore Cortez Stigger (14), and freshman Cedric Bryson (12). Stigger also led the Saluqis in scoring with 20 points, while freshman Antwon Bess added  15.

The Meridian women improved their record to 8-0 with the win over the Lady Saluqis (now 1-4). Five players scored in double figures for Southwest, led by sophomore Larica Seals with 16 points. Sophomore center Latoshia Bailey nearly recorded a triple double with 15 points, 14 rebounds and nine blocked shots.
