SOUTHWEST SOFTBALL TEAM DROPS TWO TO ITAWAMBA

The Southwest softball team lost both games of a doubleheader (by scores of 12-2 and 10-9) to Itawamba last Thursday in Fulton, Mississippi to drop their overall record to 2-2 on the season.

Brooke Hively led Southwest with four hits, three runs batted in, and three stolen bases in the two games. Other top hitters for the Lady Saluqis were Jessica Hefflinger (pictured at left) (3 for 3, 5 RBI in game two), Alyse Brewer (3 for 4, 2 RBI in game two) and Staci Craig (2 hits).

The Lady Saluqis' next game will be at 2 p.m. this Tuesday, February 27 against Crowley's Ridge at the Buckhead Creek Recreation Complex. Southwest will also play home games this week on Thursday, March 1 against Northeast Mississippi (2 p.m.) and Saturday, March 3 against Motlow State (1 p.m.).
