LADY SALUQIS PLAY BEST DEFENSIVE GAME, BUT LOSE TO NORTHWEST-SHOALS IN EXTRA INNINGS

The Southwest softball team lost two games Sunday afternoon to Northwest-Shoals Community College in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, including a 2-1 extra inning defeat in the second game after losing 7-1 in the first game. In game one, pitcher Katie Cerrito struck out five batters and allowed three earned runs, while Ginny Glenn had one of her best games of the season in the nightcap. Glenn allowed only one run through the first seven innings and had no walks. In addition, the Lady Saluqis played their best defensive game of the year, making outstanding plays throughout the game. Glenn also singled in the game-tying run in the top of the seventh inning, driving in Jessica Laubacker to send the game into extra innings.
