LADY SALUQIS PLAY BEST DEFENSIVE GAME, BUT LOSE TO
NORTHWEST-SHOALS IN EXTRA INNINGS
The Southwest softball team lost two games Sunday afternoon to
Northwest-Shoals Community College in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, including
a 2-1 extra inning defeat in the second game after losing 7-1 in the
first game. In game one, pitcher Katie Cerrito struck out five batters
and allowed three earned runs, while Ginny Glenn had one of her best
games of the season in the nightcap. Glenn allowed only one run through
the first seven innings and had no walks. In addition, the Lady Saluqis
played their best defensive game of the year, making outstanding plays
throughout the game. Glenn also singled in the game-tying run in the top
of the seventh inning, driving in Jessica Laubacker to send the game
into extra innings. |
