SOUTHWEST SOFTBALL TEAM DROPS TWINBILL TO
NATIONALLY-RANKED ST. CHARLES
The Southwest softball was defeated in both games of a doubleheader Sunday
afternoon at the Appling Complex by St. Charles Community College, a team
ranked in the pre-season top 25 by the National Junior College Athletic
Association.
In the first game, the Lady Saluqis were defeated 8-0, giving up seven of
the runs in the fourth inning. In the second game, the Lady Saluqis had one
of their top offensive performances of the season with 17 hits, but allowed
12 runs in the top of the seventh to lose the game 18-8. Top hitters for
Southwest were Tiffany Bright and Ginny Galloway with three hits each, and
Melissa Perry, Heather Bryant, Christi Morrison, and Megan Young with two
hits. |
