SOUTHWEST SOFTBALL TEAM LOSES TO COLUMBIA AND VOL

The Southwest softball team concluded its regular season over the weekend, losing two games each to Columbia State and Volunteer State on the road. With the losses the Lady Saluqis drop to 18-39 overall and 5-21 in the TJCCAA.

On Friday night, Southwest lost to Columbia State by scores of 6-1 and 8-0. Gina High (pictured at left), Jessica Hefflinger, and Lindsey McGoff each had two hits in the doubleheader. The Lady Saluqis played their last regular season games on Saturday afternoon, losing to Volunteer State 7-1 and 6-2. High was again the top hitter with a total of four hits on the day including a double in the first game. Other players with multiple hits were Erica Brich (2 hits) and Caryn Hubbard (2 doubles in game two.
