CRAIG SIGNS WITH SOUTHWEST SOFTBALL TEAM
Staci Craig, who helped lead Brighton High School to a 31-8 record and
the Region 7-AAA championship this spring, has signed a national letter
of intent to play softball at Southwest.
Craig compiled a 15-5 pitching record as a senior with a 1.39 earned run
average and 142 strikeouts in 131 innings. She also played second base
for Lady Cardinals’ coach Robin Jacobs and was third on the team with 23
runs batted in.
Her senior season, Craig was named first team All-District 13AAA,
all-district tournament, and received the Best of the West Female
Scholar Athlete award. In addition, she was selected the Millington
Star’s Athlete of the Week.
As a junior, Craig was named All-District 14AA, all-district tournament,
and The Commercial Appeal Best of the Preps team. Craig posted a 14-1
pitching record with a 1.41 ERA and led Brighton to a 27-14 record, the
Region 7AA championship and a berth in the Class AA state tournament.
