SOUTHWEST SOFTBALL TEAM
SIGNS HIVELY

All-state outfielder Brooke Hively of Adamsville High School has
signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her education and
softball career at Southwest. As a senior, Hively led Adamsville to
runner-up in District 15A and Region 8A and was named to the
all-district and all-district tournament teams. In 2006, Hively batted
.421 with 11 doubles, 3 triples, 19 stolen bases, and 24 runs batted in.
She was named Adamsville’s Athlete of the Year and was a nominee for the
Wendy’s Heisman Award. As a junior, Hively was selected Class A All-State by the Tennessee
Sports Writers Association after batting .536 with 7 doubles, 2 triples,
and 18 stolen bases. She was also selected to the all-district,
all-district tournament and All-West Tennessee teams and received
Adamsville’s Gold Glove award. A four-year starter for Coach Todd McGee
at Adamsville High, Hively also garnered all-district tournament
recognition in both her freshman and sophomore seasons.
