SOUTHWEST SOFTBALL TEAM OPENS FALL SEASON AT JOHN A. LOGAN
The Southwest softball team, coming off a record-breaking season in
which the Lady Saluqis won a school-record 25 games and advanced to the
Region VII Tournament, will open the 2005 fall season at the John A.
Logan Tournament in Carterville, Illinois on September 2-3. Highlighting
the 2005 fall schedule is the Second Annual Lady Saluqis Play Day on
October 7-8 at the Appling Complex.
The Lady Saluqis, under the direction of third-year head coach Keith
Gentry, will also compete in tournaments at Columbia State Community
College (Columbia, TN), Dyersburg State Community College (Dyersburg,
TN), Northeast Mississippi Community College (Booneville, MS), and the
University of Tennessee at Martin (Martin, TN). In addition, Southwest
will travel to Paragould, Arkansas for a doubleheader against Crowley’s
Ridge College.
