SALUQIS SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH LAMBUTH
The Southwest softball team split a doubleheader with Lambuth University last
Friday afternoon in Jackson, Tennessee, winning the first game 5-4 and losing
the second 8-2.
Sophomore Staci Craig had a two hits including a two-run triple and freshman
Whitney Grimes hit an inside-the-park home run to lead the Lady Saluqis'
offensive attack in game one. Also collecting two hits on the day were
freshman Whitney Witcher (2 hits, double, RBI), sophomore Alyse Brewer (2 hits) and
freshman Maegan
Wilson (2 hits). Wilson was also the winning pitcher in the first game,
allowing seven hits and striking out five.
The Southwest softball team will play Crichton College in a doubleheader on
Tuesday at the Buckhead Creek Recreation Complex beginning at 2:30 p.m.
The Lady Saluqis will then travel to Dyersburg, Tennessee on Friday for three
games (vs. Bethel, Freed-Hardeman, and Lambuth) and to Senatobia, Mississippi on
Saturday for two games (vs. Holmes and Northwest Mississippi).
