"Tyler worked hard to earn playing time as a freshman. He will need to be productive with the bat to break the lineup as a sophomore."

2003: Lee played in 44 games as a freshman, batting .286 with 14 runs scored, two doubles, three runs batted in, and three stolen bases. He saw considerable playing time as a late-inning defensive replacement in left field, and was also used as a courtesy runner.

High School:
Lee played for coach Ed Rich at Southaven (MS) High School, where he batted .330 as a senior with eight doubles, 25 runs batted in, and 15 stolen bases. Lee played for the Rebels of the Memphis Stan Musial League, and was also played for the Memphis Royals in the NABF World Series in Louisville, Kentucky.
