"Charlie has worked hard to rebound from Tommy John Surgery. He
is a fierce competitor who hates to lose, and wants the ball in tight
situations. His fastball topped out at 91 MPH in the fall."
2003: Ligon appeared in 13 games as a freshman and was in
the Saluqis’ rotation at the end of the season, starting four games.
He compiled a 2-2 record with a 3.67 earned run average with 34
strikeouts in 34-1/3 innings. Against Walters State, Ligon picked up a
win in relief.
High School: Ligon played for coach Tommy Densford at
Munford High School, where he was a two-time all-district performer.
He posted a 3-3 record with a 1.30 earned run average his senior
season, and struck out 39 batters with only 14 walks in 43 innings of
work. In addition, Ligon batted .296 with 17 runs batted in his senior
season.
Summer Ball: Ligon played for Dulin’s Dodgers in the Memphis
Stan Musial League. In 2001, he led Dulin’s to a 59-9 record and AAU
national runnerup.
Personal: Born November 29, 1982, in Memphis, Ligon is the son of
David and Pam Ligon.
