Buford signed with Arkansas Tech during the early signing period
2003: Buford was the Saluqis’ closer as a freshman and was
six of six in save opportunities. He had a record of 0-1 with a 3.38
earned run average, and was second on the team with 18 appearances.
High School: Buford played for coach Jason Huggins at
McGehee (AR) High School, where he posted an 8-1 record with a 1.95
earned run average his senior season. He struck out 108 batters in
71-2/3 innings, and led McGehee to an 18-3 record, the conference
championship, and the second round of the state tournament. A
three-time all-district selection, Buford made the all-region and
all-state teams his junior and senior years, and was selected to play
in the Arkansas High School All-Star Game.
Summer Ball: Buford played for the Rebels in the Memphis Stan
Musial League.
Personal: Born July 13, 1984, Buford is the son of Alan and Bobbye
Kay Buford. Buford and his wife, Stephanie, have a son, Gage Lee. |
