High School: Pinkston played at
Cordova High School, where he was a four-year starter under coach Skip
Blythe. As a senior, he batted .320 with 28 runs scored and two home
runs. Pinkston led Cordova to a 24-13 record, the District 14AAA
runnerup, and a number seven ranking in the state. As a junior, he led
the team with 43 runs scored and was 14 of 14 on stolen bases.
