"Nick is one of the hardest workers on the team and has a strong desire to succeed. He is a team leader and a pleasure to coach."

2003: One of the Saluqis’ team captains, Smith was named second team all-conference and academic all-conference. He batted .337 as a freshman, and led the team with 15 doubles, nine home runs, 54 runs batted in, 102 total bases, 36 bases on balls, .614 slugging average, and .452 on-base average.

High School
: Smith played for coach Steven Lambert at Adamsville High School, where he led the state with 18 home runs his senior season. He batted over .400, led the team with 66 runs batted in, was named all-state and all-district, and played in the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game. Smith received the team award for ‘Best Offensive Player’ in both his junior and senior seasons. He was also a member of the golf team at Adamsville High.

Summer Ball:
Smith played for the Tennessee Diamondcats in 2001.

Personal:
Born November 12, 1982, in Memphis, Smith is the son of Randy and Linda Smith.
