School:.Burleson
played for coach Joey Nesbit at Germantown High School, where he led the Red
Devils to a 28-14 record and runner-up in both the district and region
tournaments. Burleson was an All-District 15AAA and All-Region 8AAA
performer, and was also named to The Commercial Appeal’s Best of the Preps
All-Metro Team. He batted .366 with a team-high five home runs and posted a
3-3 pitching record. Burleson was named MVP of the prestigious USA Classic,
leading Germantown to the tournament championship for the second straight
season.
Summer Ball:. In the summer of 2003, Burleson was named to the Tennessee
Baseball Coaches Association Showcase Team.
