Junior College:
After playing his freshman season at the University of North Alabama, Cowan
was transferred to Northwest-Shoals Community College last season, where he
was red-shirted. At North Alabama, Cowan appeared in six games, striking out
15 batters in 15-1/3 innings of work.
High School:. Cowan played for coach Larry Greene at Tanner High
School in Athens, Alabama. As a senior, he struck out 181 batters in 96
innings, including 21 in a single game. Cowan was selected to the ASWA
All-State team, and named Class 2A Player of the Year, Small School Player
of the Year, and Super 12 Player of the Year.
Summer Ball: Cowan played summer ball for Encore, coached by David
Hall.
Personal: Born August 3, 1984, in Athens, Alabama, Cowan is the son of
Pamela and Jeff Elmore. |
