what he is doing and changes speeds very well. Shane is no stranger to the
Southwest program as he pitched for the team in 2003.”

Jackson was
red-shirted at Delta State University.
2003:
As a freshman, Jackson led the Southwest team and ranked second in the
TJCCAA with a 1.83 earned run average. In a team-high 19 appearances,
Jackson posted a 3-1 record and struck out 22 batters in 34-1/3 innings. He
was also second on the team with two saves and allowed opponents to bat only
.209 against him.
High School:
Jackson played for coach Tommy Scarbrough at Bolton High School, where he
was a two-time all-metro performer for the Wildcats and was also named
All-District 14AAA and All-Tournament. As a senior, Jackson went 6-3 with a
1.12 ERA, and struck out 55 batters in 50 innings. As a junior, he compiled
an 8-1 record with two saves, and led the Shelby Metro area with a 0.48
ERA. In 55-2/3 innings of work his junior year, Jackson struck out 50
batters. He was also the recipient of Bolton’s team award for Top Pitcher.
In addition, Jackson was a member of Bolton’s bowling team, the Christian
Athlete Club, and was the VICA Club president.
Summer Ball:
Jackson played for the Memphis RBI summer team, coached by former major
leaguer Larry Herndon.
Personal:
Born September 15, 1984, in Memphis, Jackson is the son of Mark and Jayne
