2004:
Rogers was a first team All-TJCCAA
selection by the coaches and a second team pick by the Tennessee Baseball
Report. He was also named to the Fastastic Freshmen Team by the Tennessee
Baseball Report. Rogers batted .354 and led the Saluqis with 22 stolen
bases. He also ranked second on the team with 46 runs scored, 69 hits, 25
doubles, 4 home runs, 110 total bases, 30 walks, and a .445 on-base average.
2003: Rogers was red-shirted as a freshman at
Volunteer State Community College before transferring to Southwest.
High School: Rogers played at Bolton High School under coach Tommy
Scarbrough, where he was a two-time All-District 14AAA selection and was
named All-Metro his senior year. He batted .329 as a senior with 28 runs
scored, 10 doubles, one triple, 17 runs batted in, and led the team with 11
stolen bases. His junior season, Rogers led Bolton with a .352 average, 24
runs scored, 21 RBI, six doubles, two triples, and 23 stolen bases.
Summer Ball: Rogers played the past two summers for Dulin’s Dodgers of
the Memphis Stan Musial League, leading them to the league championship and
the AABC Stan Musial Southeast Regional in 2004. In 2002, he played on
Dulin’s AAU National Championship team.
Personal: Born March 8, 1984, in Charleston, South Carolina, Rogers is
the son of Gary and Rena Rogers. |
