DAVID CLAYTON

2007: Clayton started 56 games at second base as a freshman and led
the team with 118 assists. He batted .277 on the season including .333 with
runners in scoring position. Clayton tied for the team lead with eight
multiple-RBI games, including three against Coahoma and Volunteer State. He
also had 13 multiple-hit games and had three hits against Northwest-Shoals,
Hiwassee, and Northwest Mississippi.
High School:
Clayton played for Coach Buster Kelso at Christian Brothers High School in
Memphis, where he led the Purple Wave to a 40-3 record his senior season and
third place in the Division 2 state tournament. Clayton batted .330 as a
senior and was named to the all-district team.
Personal: Born September 22, 1987, in Memphis, Clayton is the son of
Bill and Lisa Clayton.
