JORDAN WAKEFIELD

2007:
Wakefield started 56
of the team’s 59 games behind the plate and threw out 34 would-be
basestealers. He batted .283 with eight doubles, 19 runs batted in, and a
team-leading 13 stolen bases. Wakefield had 11 multiple hit games and six
multiple RBI games and had three hits in four conference games.
High School: Wakefield was a two-year letterman for Coach Jeff Hopkins
at Collierville High School, where he led the the Dragons to a 34-14 record
as a senior. He led Collierville to a third place finish in the Class AAA
state tournament in both his junior and senior seasons and was named
Collierville’s “Defensive Player of the Year” as a senior. In 2005,
Wakefield was a member of the West Team in the Tennessee Baseball Coaches
Association/Worth Showcase at Middle Tennessee State University.
Personal: Born August 19, 1987, in Memphis, Wakefield is the son of
Rick and Theresa Wakefield.
