“Conner got better and better as the fall went on. He learned what he has to do to attack hitters from his multiple arm slots in order to have success, which shows what kind of student of the game he is. Though he showed flashes of offensive success this fall, he factors in for us as a key reliever on the mound and a guy who I have no hesitation with putting at first base in a key defensive moments as well.”

High School: Hobbs was a four-year letterman for Coach John Jarnagin at Memphis University School, where he helped lead the Owls to runner-up in the Division 2 state tournament. As a senior, Hobbs struck out 60 batters and walked only 10 in 65 innings and his 0.81 earned run average broke the school record.

Summer Ball: Hobbs played last summer for the Memphis Chicks coached by David Delugach.

Personal: Born August 29, 1999, in Memphis, Tennessee, he is the son of Lee and Belinda Hobbs.
