Verties Sails
III is entering his eighth year as assistant basketball coach for
the Saluqis. In his six years on the Saluqis' staff, Southwest has
compiled a 159-50 record including four national tournament
appearances. Coach Sails III does a variety of recruiting
information and also works both in the weightroom and on the floor
with our players.
Sails is a 1998 graduate of Whitehaven High School in Memphis, where
he played basketball for coach Gary Williams. In addition, Sails
played for the Idlewild Presbyterian 17-and under AAU national
championship team.
In August 2002, Sails received his Bachelor of Science degree in
Speech Communication and Theatre from Tennessee State University in
Nashville, where he was a member of TSU's 'Aristocrat of Bands' as a
drummer.
